Thanks to the kindness of my husband, Jeff (along with his willingness to drive through desert, mountains, ice, and snow); I completed the requisite 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo as of today! While my novel is not yet finished, I feel a huge sense of accomplishment in writing 174 pages of fiction in less than thirty days. All right, a lot of it probably isn’t all that good, but it is 174 pages!!! And, it was done with two week-long trips. One of which disabled my computer access due to LOE (lack of electricity) and committed me to pen and paper writing—a throw-back to the days when I would hand write college papers then type them on that antiquated machine called a typewriter. I also found myself sick with a cold as of Thanksgiving day, but continued to plug along when it would have been so easy to kick back and do nothing. All right, I’m through giving myself kudos for reaching the end of the month with the near completion of another novel. It’s been crazy and fun. I highly recommend it during the busiest of schedules :-)
