H: Head Injury, Hematoma, & Concussions

YA Causes/Tough Issues continues with
H: Head Injury/Hematoma

This was a tricky one when it comes to songs. But as I searched, I discovered an awesome, Indie musician: Jon Davis! This is one of my favorite parts of contributing to Moxie Writers—the ability to connect with under-championed artists—artists who deserve the same recognition as those in the upper tiers of the performing arts.

In 2006, Jon suffered a TBI—hence the song below. His sophomore CD, Open Shore, releases on April 26th.  I have his debut album, Golden Hue, on itunes. I absolutely love it and highly recommend it.

You can find Jon in these places:

Without further adieu, today’s song: Traumatic Head Injury by Jon Davis. So show him some bloggerly love!

All by myself, trying to pass the time
Stuck in the shell of an idle mind
Ambition’s on the shelf waiting for the climb
Once I’m back in health I’ll be kickin’ overtime

I have a thirst for many things
To feel the birth of the sunny spring
To feel the surf of the breaking waves
But I know it’ll have to wait
I got too much time to think
And now I’m beginning to sink
Into my fears and my worries again

YA Causes/Tough Issues

Moxie Writers will briefly address a YA Cause or Tough Issue facing teens, then offer organizations that aid in the cause, starting with the appropriate letter of the alphabet.

At Rebecca’s blog, she will list a book and characters associated with the issue of the day. This may or may not begin with the designated letter.

Here at my blog, I will share a song with some of the lyrics that pertains to the cause.
Thus the power of three!
