The National Park Service often charges entrance fees to its national parks. However, there are several days throughout the year where it's absolutely, completely free!
According to the National Park Service website, these are the freebies:
January 19th
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
February 14-16
Presidents Day weekend
April 18-19
Opening weekend of National Park Week
August 25
National Park Service birthday
September 26
National Public Lands Day
November 11
Veterans Day
So if you've been angling to go to a U.S. national park (and they're all amazing in their own ways), take advantage of the free days...before our national parks are gone.

ReplyDeleteI had no idea. This is great to know.
ReplyDeleteThey have something similar with museums in Los Angeles and I think in other cities as well. If you time things right at the parks or museums you can save money, but sometimes timing isn't that easy.
