Six Things I Did...(On Labor Day)

Happy Labor Day everyone! Despite the fact it’s a U.S. holiday, I am still working. But that’s okay.

  1. Surgery Prep. The littlest and I will leave for Denver this next Sunday. I am trying to get myself physically and mentally prepared for his surgery and in-patient status. Must admit, I am quite nervous. Things did not go well last time he had surgery in 2007.
  2. Transferred Fish. My oldest son and I had some mishaps this past week with his aquarium and aquarium animals. Three of them died L The only one that survived was the betta that was in the vase. We think we have the aquarium in good working order now, so we transferred the betta back to it (it was once exclusively his home before the others came and went).
  3. Read. When I am under stress, I often hunker down and read. Right now, I am well into Charlaine Harris’s Dead Until Dark.
  4. Visited blogs. I am participating in Rachael Harrie’s Third Platform-Building Campaign. More about it here. It is fun to meet new bloggers who write the same genres I do.
  5. Discussed 9/11 with the Oldest. We read a kid-section of the newspaper together this morning. At first, he was stressed about the whole thing (as the subject is new to him). But after reading and discussing, he is much better now.
  6. Thought about Writing. Hard to actually do it with a house full of people (no school/no work). But who knows…anything is possible. Right?
