I’m slowly working on a YA trilogy. I’ve plotted out the
first two books in outline form and worked on the characters. They travel with
me throughout my day, so I get to know them better all the time. I’ve created
themes. The trilogy has a social statement, as well. I’ve even started writing
Book I.
Usually, I create a playlist before I write. Songs that
inspire the characters, speak to their nature and who they are. But I’ve never
found a theme song for any of my novels. Until now.
Every time I hear this song, I think of my trilogy. It is a
perfect fit—especially for Book 2. It inspires me to write it.
Do you create playlists for your characters? Or...do you have a theme song for one of your novels?
That's great! I don't make playlists, but there's usually a song or album that fits the theme.
ReplyDeleteFor my memoir, some songs trigger lots of memories, which helps in the revision phase.
