1) Tended to the fire…which sounds very Little House on the Prairie-ish. But I needed to keep it going throughout the day. Despite the fact that it’s March—and I thought things were warming up—we have experienced a dip in temperatures and are expecting up to four inches of snow.
2) Looked for a way to spend my Borders 40% off coupon. This may seem like an easy thing to do since there are so many great books out there to read. But it seemed as though each book I wanted carried the same stipulation. That is, I cannot use my 40% off coupon toward the purchase because of already-applied discounts. I refuse to drive into Durango to browse the innards of an actual bookstore, which is forty minutes away, because of the expected four inches of snow. So I have to settle for online shopping.
3) Made phone calls. My youngest son needs to go to The Children’s Hospital for a sedated scan and to see specialists who cannot be found in our rural area. Somehow he fell through the cracks of the system, and his appointments were not scheduled in a timely manner (see My Life With Zane for the details). Now it is crunch time, and it seems everyone is on vacation.
4) Celebrated. Because I don’t have any laundry to do today.
5) Avoided the kitchen. I have been trying to stay away from the bag of Red Vines in the cupboard. The day is not over yet. I likely will fail.
6) Finished the book, Party, by Tom Leveen. Honestly, I could not put this book down. The voice (or voices, as it is told from multiple points of view) is strong and very teen-like! Seriously, dude.
