Part of today was spent in the waiting room while my husband had outpatient surgery. The boys and I waited for three hours. They were amazing and patient and well-behaved. Afterward, we ran to a few stores and the library. I arrived home with an armful. The stack of books on my nightstand is soon going to topple like a house of cards. But I wound up with some exciting books:
Across the Universe by Beth Revis
Willow by Julia Hoban (I've read it once, but must read it again because it's so good)
Like Mandarin by Kirsten Hubbard
Winter’s Bone by Daniel Woodrell
The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen
Burned by Ellen Hopkins
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (Read this one, too, but need to revisit since I just finished writing a travel memoir of my own)
The Shadowland Mediator (Book 1) by Meg Cabot
I know, I’m crazy, right? When am I going to find time to read all of these with a revision in process (#ninoremo), a WIP, and a book looking to find a home with an agent? Answer: I don’t know.
On another note, Deirdra at A Storybook World presented me with a Beautiful Mommy Writer Award. I feel truly honored because those are two of my most favorite things to be: a mom and a writer.
Finally, today is the last day to enter the giveaway for an e-reader version of Talli Roland’s The Hating Game (enter below). It is such a fun read with great characters. I highly recommend it. The winner will be announced tomorrow on this site. And with all the great books I have come across lately, stay tuned for more giveaways. It is so much fun to share great books with others!

ooooh, what a fab list to get reading! Can't wait to hear what you think of them.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the blog award, too.
