Six Things I Did Today

  1. Studied up on e-book Formatting. I’ve seen some unfortunate and sloppy typesetting in some e-books. Truly, it makes me want to stop reading. I don’t want to be one of those authors. Time to tap into my technical side (all right, that may be my hubby with his IT expertise).
  2. Figured Out How to Use Kindle Text to Speech. Okay, it’s a bit stilted, but I don’t have the time or vocal cords to read it aloud on my own.
  3. Shoveled. The snow blower is being repaired. I consider shoveling my exercise for the day.
  4. Chauffeured in the Snow. It’s a crawl today on those rural roads. We had five inches overnight with no school delays.
  5. Phone calls. To the pediatrician again about Zane’s ear. To the radio station because the pediatrician wants our family to do a radio spot for her practice.
  6. Laundry. Because the day would not be complete without a load of laundry *insert sarcasm*

  1. Why is it that things always break down when we need them the most?

  4. Ha, what you said about your #6, my husband always says about the grocery store: The day isn't complete without running a trip to the grocery store for 5 vital items we forgot during the last trip!"

  5. Wow. I love how you've always managed to get so much done when you list the six things. :-)

  6. I like that Kindle text to speech function, too! Though sometimes it makes me giggle when it mispronounces a word, which then pulls me out of the story.

By the way, you won a copy of my book! Shoot me an email with your mailing address and I'll send it right out. :)

  7. It took me several tries to get the formatting straightened out on my novella that I self-published, but I kept at it because formatting is crucial. I think it's the main problem, next to not very good writing, including errors, with self-published books. But if you have a techie husband - well, I'd say you're ten steps ahead! Keep going!!!
