Today the fabulous Nicki Elson at Nicki Elson’s Not-So-Deep Thoughts along with Suze from Analog Breakfast and M. Pax from Wistful Nebulae are hosting a blogfest. All you have to do is answer one simple question:
Who was/is your 80s celebrity crush?
The deets:
Post a picture, video, or whatever of the celebrity you most tumbled for in the 80s---along with your feeble justifications, of course. ;) Or, since it's come to our attention that there are, in fact, persons roaming the planet who weren't of crushing age during the 80s, which 80s star most makes you tumble now?
C'mon, tell us who ya tumbled 4
So without further ado, here it goes. There are two.

Maybe because he was my first—concert, that is. I liked the tall and lanky of Hall versus the short and bushy-mustache variety of Oates.
That was the early 80s. Then came Duran Duran and…
John Taylor
(the bare-chested, headbanded one)

Oh, these are fun choices! It is funny to watch the 80s videos now, isn't it? Totally cracks me up. :D
ReplyDeleteI've seen a lot of John Taylors today, but this is the first Daryl Hall. I'm a huge Hall & Oates fan, so thumbs up! :)
ReplyDeleteOh,I loved watching that Duran Duran video - totally takes me back! Thanks so much for posting that - my crush was John Taylor, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat videos - they have a special flavour, the 80s ones :-)
ReplyDeleteNice choices! This blogfest really makes me want to listen to some eighties' music!
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I was so hoping either Hall or Oates would show up today. I'm going to play both these songs while I continue to hop, so thanks for providing me w/ this additional entertainment. :)
ReplyDeleteJohn Taylor is quite the popular boy today, along with his bandmates. Hey, you have to check out Kelly Pollark's entry - she Tweets w/ John and he gave her a book recommendation.
Thank you so, so, SO much for joining the fest!
loved the rockin 80s! sting was my crooner =)
ReplyDeletehuey lewis too, but they were too old for me.
eddie van halen, rick springfield, the list goes on!
great decade!
have a sa-weet weekend!
Hall & Oates! They had some great videos. I loved Duran Duran, too. What great memories today has brought up.
ReplyDeleteYay for John Taylor! Duran Duran had the best videos.
ReplyDeleteDuran squared's self-titled album and Hall and Oates 'Big Bam Boom' were the first LPs I bought as an eleven-year old.
ReplyDelete(Dance on your knees!)
Awesome! Did you know that Daryl Hall bought the oldest house in Maine? I thought that was pretty cool.

Tall and Oats I used to call them, although they had some classics. Glad you like DM, too and you have a new follower... anyone who likes Depeche is *alright* in my book :)
ReplyDeleteAll those videos back then were, well, interesting. I loved Duran Duran's because they were so exotic at the time. And they guys were eye-candy to my hormonal teenage heart. I'll be honest!
ReplyDelete"Because your kiss - your kiss is on my list..."
ReplyDeleteAh, brilliant choices. I always did feel bad for poor, neglected Oates, though...doubt anyone in the blogfest is giving him a nod. :)
John Taylor is evidently the winning crush on this blog hop. Yes, he was mighty fine. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat taste.... love your picks... brings back awesome memories
ReplyDeleteTwo great groups here. I think I had all of Hall and Oates music. They had great songs.

haha does big bird count? I crushed a lot of things too though.
ReplyDeleteJT and Duran Duran seem to be a hit in this blogfest. I did love their song at one point and older videos do seem cringe worthy sometimes when seen with today's eyes.
ReplyDeleteSeems like JT and Duran Duran are popular choices in this blogfest...older videos do seem cringe worthy when seen with today's eyes.
ReplyDeleteDarryl Hall was a cuite, and they actually wrote some very good songs! I'm popping over from the blogfest (#57).
ReplyDeleteLol sounds like me with Nick from the Backstreet Boys. (I'm a 90s child.) ;-P
ReplyDeleteDaryl Hall - great choice! One of the most successful songwriters of the era.
ReplyDeleteI saw Hall and Oates circa 1982 outdoors somewhere outside Houston and it was one of the best live shows I've seen. Those guys played tight and they played well to the crowd.
ReplyDeleteOoh! Good choices! Darryl Hall was gorgeous. In fact, we were really spoilt for choice back then!
ReplyDeleteAh, you were into musicians! They still make me swoon! So dreamy!!
ReplyDelete(BTW - I followed ya! For some reason, I thought I already had, so I apologize for the oversight.)
Hall and Oates! A unique crush--well done. ;) Loved "Private Eyes" and "Maneater".
ReplyDeleteThe mustache on Oats was creepy!
ReplyDeleteDuran Duran have been so popular during this 'fest!
ReplyDeleteHall & Oats were good. Glad you brought them off for the blogfest. Yes, Hungry Like the Wolf was a pretty silly video.
