Six Things About Fractured

  1. FRACTURED has been ten years in the making. I wrote the first draft back in 2002 after my own experiences (yes, there was more than one) with miscarriage.
  2. It’s not just about miscarriage. It has marital conflict, friendship, humor, and sex, too.
  3. It's set in Phoenix. Like most of my novels, FRACTURED is set in the Phoenix metro area even though I don’t live there anymore. I love and miss the desert, so I write about it from my office in the mountains.
  4. It's layered. The novel weaves the developing love story of Anna and Lloyd with their fracturing marriage.
  5. The opening scenes are based on my own experience in the ER.
  6. So far, this is the novel closest to my heart.

  1. I'm so excited for you, Susan. Good luck with the novel.

So many women have miscarried--I being one of them. And I went to the ER as well. One of the biggest traumas of my life.
