Noteworthy Kindle Samples

First of all, I want to thank all of my writing friends who reached out to me with such warmth and kind words. This community of writers buoys me during difficult times. I feel extremely grateful to know all of you, and I wish all of you success in your writing endeavors. You have truly touched me with your compassion.

Now for the Kindle samples.

I have oh-so-many of them on my Kindle right now. I finally took some time to read through some of them. Here are the ones I found noteworthy and which may be promoted to full book status on my Kindle soon.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

There’s been a lot of buzz about this one through book review blogs, so I decided to download the sample. I think the main thing that drew me in was the voice and the unique attention to detail.

Slipstream by Michael Offutt

The book started with a real hook that pulled me instantly into the story. So I am anxious to read on! Plus, Michael is über fantastic. You can find his blog here.

Hate List by Jennifer Brown

Okay, so I know this is a little dated. But I just read the sample and so want to read more. Luckily for me, my local library has this one on hand. So it may not actually wind up on my Kindle after all.

Do you have any noteworthy samples on your e-reader?

    1. You're not alone. I have 23 pages of books and samples on my Kindle. I read fast, but not fast enough apparently.

  6. OMG...I feel so humbled that you picked me :) squee. It's such a surprise to just click on someone's website and think "oh I wonder what they're up to..." and bam, you're talking about my book right underneath the huge million book bestseller 'Gone Girl'! Thank you so much, Susan. :)

    1. Michael, You're very welcome. But, honestly, your book wouldn't be on here if I didn't like the writing and didn't find it noteworthy. I am impressed and plan to buy it when I finally start reading other people's books again :-) So busy editing and revising right now.

  7. OMG, thank you, Susan! I'd love for you to mention my launch in one of your posts. I'm wrapping up loose stuff now and hope to have all in order to zero in on a launch date pretty soon. The KKK is a difficult but very real topic as I blogged. I was hesitant about asking anyone for launch help because the topic is so out of the norm when balanced with more cheerful topics. So, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you!

    1. Kittie, I'd love to help. I like controversial topics. Just let me know the details when you have them. I usually make my standard posts on M, W, and F. Good luck with finishing everything up. I know it is a lot of work.
