Life Is Hard

 
I've been pretty behind on my posts and my blog visits. In reality, I don't have much to say right now. Life has roughed me up quite a lot lately, so I am going to take the rest of the week to catch up with fellow bloggers and writerly friends, work on my next manuscript (though sometimes I wonder why I even bother), and regroup. I'm low on energy, feeling a bit beaten up by life. Though it's too early to look back on 2012 (usually that's reserved for December), it's been a difficult year in so many ways.

That being said, I am off to check on all of you. When I am feeling down and out, I can always look to my writer friends to pick me up. I appreciate you all for that.

  2. Oh life can be hard, can't it? says one Susan to another. I sympathize with you totally. I've discovered that once it's well and truly roughed you up, it'll set you back on your feet again. Hope it's planning to do that pretty soon. And don't give up writing - you're a talented writer.

  4. oh it is no wonder you are tapped out after a hospital stay--they always did it to me---just take it easy and only do what you want to or simply have to----you will get your energy back before you know it! i feel the same way about you and some other bloggers, you guys keep me going sometimes---<3

    SO sorry to hear you are blue, Susan. Of all the people I know in our wide blogosfamily, I always smile and fell fantabulous when you visit my blog and lease such treasured and kind comments from you.

    I have many days like yours, but then I think back at how bad (health wise) I was at a sad time in my life when I couldn't walk for years.

    I see homeless people shiver in the cold on the streets of Chicago during the most horrific icy wind conditions and I thank God I have a warm place to go home to ....

    Life does hand us many, many hard challenges, but it does make us stronger and appreciate the wonderful aspects of life. A child's laugh, a puppy wagging his tale, the beautiful first flowers of spring, magnificent sunrises and sunsets, and family and close friends. These are a fraction of life's wonders.

    I we could focus on just one positive or happy aspect, it will erase part of the sadness.

    I know caring for a loved one, especially a child is very exhausting, but God knows your love and determination is far stronger than the challenge. I was once told that God gives us our crosses to bear and he doesn't give us anything he knows we can't handle no matter how frustrated and angry we get.

    Take a deep breath Sweets and know you can draw positive energy from all of your extended family....

    One last big hug before bedtime. Take a deep long breath and let all the tension and anxiety leave your body.

  13. When you find yourself feeling "why bother" about your writing, it's time to take a break, read some books, watch some TV, maybe paint a room in the house. Enthusiasm and inspiration will return in due course.

  20. You know, there are times when I ask myself why bother too. However, know that when you write a good people, your readers can't help but looking to see what else you've written and it takes time to build momentum. Keep writing. It's what you love, so stick with it.

    I hope that things have turned around even a little bit and that if they haven't that you're feeling better. I've found that in my life when things go wrong, there's always a pile up of things that go wrong at the same time. Most times, things have a way of working themselves out as the days go by.
