Bully

Today the Speak Out Against…Tour resumes with lovely Linda Jackson at Writers Do Laundry, Too. She’s speaking out about her personal experiences with bullying. Many thanks to Linda for hosting us and for shedding light on this subject.

Meanwhile, here's the trailer from Bully, the movie.

  1. I got the chance to see the Bully documentary when it first came out to the theaters. What a powerful look into bullying and what our schools are NOT doing. It's a film everyone needs to go see.

  2. Hi-ya. I wandered over from Linda's blog. Wow! That trailer really socks ya in the gut, doesn't it? Kudos to you for writing a book that addresses this topic. Young people need a book to help them empathize with kids who are bullied, and that really hits them in the gut like that trailer does. I can't help but wonder if the movement to "instill self-esteem" in children, (regardless of whether such accolades had been earned by virtue of actual accomplishment) led some children to have too much regard for "self" and too little empathy for "others". Time to change that. Good luck with your book helping to do just that.

  3. Such a powerful trailer. I hope some of these books/movies will move the bullies to have more empathy for others.
