Six Things I Did Today...on the Fourth of July

  1. Broke camp. The family and I went camping near Creede, Colorado for the extended weekend. (More on Creede during Travel Tuesday). Needless to say, it was gorgeous. But the adults in the family have to work tomorrow, so we broke camp today and headed home.
  2. Stopped near Wolf Creek for lunch. It was a quick roadside stop, but the scenery was unmatched, the weather perfect, and the family in a good mood. Plus, we shared a bag of Doritos with our sandwiches.
  3. Read. The book Pipsqueak by Brian M. Wiprud has been sitting on my shelf for years. It’s pretty entertaining.
  4. Unpacked. One of the pitfalls of going camping: having to drag everything back inside and clean it up.
  5. Wrote my To-do list. It has been swimming inside my head since last night while I lay awake listening to night sounds and the rush of the Rio Grande. I was too lazy to get up, turn on a flashlight, and pen it at that time. But now it is done. Whew!
  6. Fireworks. Okay, we haven’t gone yet because it isn’t exactly dark outside yet. But we plan to watch the show in town tonight. If we can stay awake until then.
