Six Things (Hijacked by Character, Ellie Blackwood)

My blog has been hijacked today by Ellie Blackwood, the main character in my recent YA novel, Superstitions. I am off to enjoy the last day of summer vacation with my family (even hubby is home due to the big pro bike race in Durango today; can’t even get into the office because of the 25,000 visitors and their traffic). But before I partake in my relaxing day I have, in turn, hijacked the blog of super-talented Ali Cross today. Thanks so, so much to Ali. So head on over if you have a chance.

Have fun, Ellie.

So I’m Ellie and apparently Monday is something called six things I did today. Since it’s summer vacation—and I’m a teen—I don’t know if I can actually come up with six things, but here goes…

  1. I slept in until 11:00 because that’s what teenagers do in the summer. To get up early would be criminal.
  2. So I finally got my own phone over the summer when my dad decided to emerge from the dark ages. I’ve already texted alexander, like, twenty times.
  3. Greta, in an impromptu move, totally took the day off from work. So during breakfast (which is actually most people’s lunch time since I woke up so late), I watched a rerun of one of her favorite shows with her, keeping up with the kardashians. Let’s just say, I am so over that show.
  4. We decided it’s way too hot in Phoenix to go hiking in the supes (one of our things despite what happened last winter). So alexander and I went swimming instead. It’s in the vicinity of 105 degrees today.
  5. Alexander and I pilfered some of my dad’s cds like nirvana, jane’s addiction, and some band called scorpions because we’re pretty familiar with those creatures in the desert. I’m kind of liking the jane’s addiction most. Alexander’s not so sure yet.
  6. Left a message for kyle. But he hasn’t called back.

Pretty boring stuff, I know. Sorry for the lazy writing. But English doesn’t happen until the start of the school year.

Tomorrow I’ll be back, but in better form. Mondays can be brutal, you know?
