It is a real slog to get through this book. Aside from
finding the author/narrator less than intelligent in just about everything she’s
done so far, I simply don’t like her. Makes it hard to want to continue with her
book.
Will start this one with my son tomorrow.
What did you recently finish reading?
Just as good the second time around.
What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m getting ready to revisit my shelved memoir soon. The
publisher/editor who read it wants me to flip two of the story lines. It always
helps to read other memoirs before delving into my own. I've read A Walk in the Woods before, but may reread it if I ever finish Wild.

I just read A Walk in the Woods - fun! And good to know about Wild - my bookclub was thinking about reading it. My WWW is here:

Yeah sometimes a book just rubs you the wrong way. :( On a positive note In A Sunburned Country looks cool!
ReplyDeleteOld follower too. Here is what I'm reading this week! Have a great one!
I'm sorry you're not enjoying Wild. I really liked that one, but I think if you can't relate to the narrator it can make a book rough going. For more trail hiking fun, Bill Bryson's book is great. :)
ReplyDeleteHaven't read Wild, but I understand where you're coming from. I'm currently reading Angela's Ashes...pretty good so far. :)
ReplyDeleteI've only read one other Bill Bryson book (Short History of Nearly Everything) but I loved his humorous writing style. I look forward to seeing what you think of these other books of his.
ReplyDeleteMy WWW Wednesday can be found here.
1. Bill Bryson's books are great. I love a good travel read. 2. I'm surprised you don't like 'Wild.' Everyone seems to and I am excited to read it. We'll see what I think!

I love that you read Harry Potter the second time. What a great series.
ReplyDeleteI just finished The Truth About Faking by Leigh T. Moore and I absolutely loved it!
Oh, you are definitely not alone in not enjoying Wild, my book group was split.
ReplyDeleteI wish I got as much reading done as you do. Seems all I do these days is edit my own stuff.
