Six Things I Did Today Instead of Writing
1. Read to the boys. They are in midst of the fabulous summer reading program at our town’s library. My oldest is quite the competitor, trying to be the one kid who reads the most. Can you say Percy Jackson? My oldest simply loves the first book in the series.
2. Fever control. My youngest has had a fever since yesterday. Of course, this has to happen on Memorial Day weekend when the ped’s office is closed for an extended day. We may have to make a trip to the doctor tomorrow.
3. Watered the plants and shrubs. Since Nature is not taking care of the job, I am. A few of the poor guys are jaundiced and sickly.
4. Read to myself. Schuyler’s Monster by Robert Rummel-Hudson
5. Thought about writing. I have been so busy traveling (The Children’s Hospital, Ouray, and soon Phoenix) that I have found little time—all right, it’s more like no time—to write. I have capped 200 pages, but cannot find the time to get my manuscript finished. Honestly, it is not procrastination.
6. Need I say it?...Laundry.

not laundry!
ReplyDeletehope your little one is feeling better
Writing must always take a backseat to a sick child, right? Life is a harsh master. I hope you get some free time to write and dream today, Roland
ReplyDeleteSounds like all the things you did do were just as important...well, except for the laundry.
ReplyDeleteNow get on with that manuscript!

That sounds like everyday to me, with the exception of children. Good luck with finishing your WIP. I'm sure it will happen.
ReplyDeleteI hope your little one gets better.

It sounds like you were doing just what you needed to be doing today. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteI'm still visiting blogs from the A-Z.. Why do kids (and people in general) always get sick on holidays or weekends? Hope he's better.
