M: Mental Health, Anxiety, and Depression

Today’s song: Brain Stew by Green Day

My mind is set on overdrive
The clock is laughing in my face
A crooked spine
My sense is dulled
Passed the point of delirium
On my own here we goAbout Teen Depression states that...

1:5 children have some sort of mental, behavioral, or emotional problem

1:10 may have a serious emotional problem

Among adolescents, one in eight may suffer from depression

  1. Hello, Susan! Mental health and depression is something we need to discuss more. If kids and teens can get help when they're young, they'll be more prepared and confident to deal with everything as adults.

Happy A to Z-ing! from Laura Marcella @ Wavy Lines

  2. Hi, Susan,

I so agree with Laura. Parents need to be AWARE. Understanding their children's personalities and KNOW when something is just not right.

Children and teen have so much more to deal with than we did as kids. The world is not a safe place any more and the world's vibe seems to be spiraling downward.

    Such emotional lyrics.

  3. I love Green Day so I like this choice! I had a bad feeling the lyrics were describing me as I read them though. Mind on overdrive sounds about right!

  4. So sad to see teens with these disorders. Good to know that God can heal all wounds! Happy A to Z!

  5. It's easy to dismiss the symptoms of MD with teens; they're often moody and in some kind of turmoil. It really does require parents pay attention and get help if they think those symptoms are more than normal. Great post.
