R: Romance
Ah, to be in love for the first time again. This is the story of so many YA novels of late: first love…the first kiss. All that said, it is important for our youth to act responsibly when it comes to love, romance, and (yes) the s-word—sex.
Today’s song: Love Story by Taylor Swift
'cause you were Romeo
- I was a scarlet letter,
And my daddy said,
"Stay away from Juliet"
But you were
everything to me,
I was begging you,
"Please don't go"
And I said...
Romeo, take me somewhere
we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all
that's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince
and I'll be the princess,
It's a love story,
baby, just say, "Yes"
And, in the event your heart has been broken, here is a song for that, too.
Grace is Gone by Dave Matthews
I could never love
again so much as I love you
Where you end where
I begin is like a river going through
Take my eyes take my
heart I need them no more
If never again they fall upon the one
I so adore*For the record, I do not advocate underage drinking, so the lyrics can be used metaphorically

And young love is very different from mature love.
ReplyDeleteYoung love is always so romantic. We need to experience it so we have those memories later when love has a few lumpy bits to it. :-)
ReplyDeleteTo me Romance is the dominant force in YA. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Dave Matthews song. :)
