T: Teens and Tattoos
Personally, I’m not a big fan of tattoos—especially on teens. However, a friend of mine and her daughter inked matching rose tattoos when they lost their daughter/sister at four months of age to complications related to Trisomy 18—the same diagnosis that my younger son has. I thought it was an amazing tribute and remembrance—a wonderful reason for a teen to get a tattoo.
Today’s song: Tattoo by Jordin Sparks
Don't look back at a
new direction
I loved you once,
needed protection
You're still a part
of everything I do
You're on my heart
just like a tattoo

Very touching story. I have a young adult daughter who went through difficult times and has tatoos in honor of her children. I really am enjoying the YA presence in A to Z. What a great idea of addressing teen issues as part of the blogging challenge. Kudos to the organizers.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by this need to ink the body with signs and symbols like earlier people did for religious or social reasons.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of tattoos either.
ReplyDeleteTeens do seem to enjoy getting tattoos. I know so many of them doing it these days. Perhaps they're making a statement, or maybe they just like them. Personally, I wouldn't want someone sticking a bunch of inked up needles into my skin, but to each their own, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteI like tattoos as long as they aren't covering the body (unless you are a rockstar, then it's okay! ) :) I have one small tattoo.
