Get Healthy BlogHop and WWW Wednesdays

Stephen Tremp,
 L. Diane Wolfe, Michael Di Gesu,
and Alex J. Cavanaugh  have teamed up for a Blog Hop that focuses on health. This is an issue with many bloggers who have expressed gaining weight over the holidays and other negative health issues that they are dealing with. Here is a Blog Hop that can help us make 2013 a year that we can help turn the tides!

The Objective: Share with everyone something you have done that affected your health in a positive way.

Since I have two posts scheduled for today, I’ll keep this brief.

First, Michael Di Gesu offered to coach me at the beginning of the year. He had read on my blog that I had experienced a breast cancer diagnosis in early 2012. I’ve had clear mammos for over a year now! Michael reached out to me in his kind and loving way, allowing himself to be the person I am accountable to when it comes to eating well and exercising. As such, I have turned into an exercise fanatic—even dropping 13 pounds since the start of the New Year.

What do I do?

Besides eating better (more fruits and veggies; less sugar), I work out (almost every day). It has been my way to control stress (another factor that deteriorates our health) and feel the rush of endorphins that naturally leads to being happier.

My workout:

  • Jillian Michaels’ 30-Day Shred (I’m moving to level three this week)
  • Weight training
  • Just Dance 2 (often by myself, as my eight-year-old decided it’s not for him anymore).

Make sure you visit the other participants hereThanks to the blog hop hosts for such an awesome and healthy event!

WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading.
To play along, just answer the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

So far so good. It’s departed a bit from where it began, but I’m still engaged.

What did you recently finish reading?

I truly appreciated Jennifer’s characterizations. The characters seemed like real people to me, which is so refreshing in the midst of so many cardboard cutout characters I’ve read lately.

What do you think you’ll read next?

It’s on my nightstand. But my mood may dictate otherwise. We’ll see where I am when I finish with Daughter of Smoke and Bone.

What are you doing to stay healthy and combat stress? What are you reading these days?

  4. That Jillian Michael's DVD is supposed to be great. Since I move furniture around, I have no room to do workouts at home.

  6. I did 30 Day Shred for years and loved it! Level 2 is my favorite. I swear, it thinned out my thighs! Level 3 is fun, too, but a killer for sure.

Glad to hear you're doing so well with the exercise and that your mammos have been clear!
