I have way too many samples on my Kindle, so I had a brainstorm: Why don't I actually read some of them! Brilliant, huh?
Here are some of the noteworthy ones:
Writing 21st Century Fiction by Donald Maass
I’ve read and implemented Writing the Breakout Novel
Workbook, which was extremely helpful in enriching my writing. This one looks
equally appealing.
Polar Night by Julie Flanders
Reading the sample immediately pulled me in. Both the story
and character are well-drawn and left me wanting more.
The Taste of Fear by Jeremy Bates
Talk about a cliffhanger in a Kindle sample! Wow! Plus the
voice is outstanding. This one is getting pushed up on my TBR list.
Have you sampled any interesting books on the Kindle lately? Do you own a Kindle or an e-reader? Have you read any of these books?

I usually read the samples on the site, rather than download them. I try to avoid Kindle clutter. I already have too many things on mine as is.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendations.
Like Medeia, I don't download the samples. I'd never get round to reading them - I have enough trouble reading the ones I've bought... My list is huge at the moment!
ReplyDeleteI stopped downloading them onto my iPod Touch because you can't delete them. You can delete novels but you can't delete samples. I didn't realize you could read them on the site. I'm not sure you can for all the books.
ReplyDeleteI love DM's book. I recently attended one of his workshops based on the book. It was awesome!!!!
Hi! I have Julie's book on my tbr list. I really need to find some time to read it- sounds wonderful. I will have to check out Jeremy's book also. Sounds great, too.
ReplyDeleteHI, Susan,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comment you left on my blog earlier. They mean so much!
Some great choices here. Definitely will be checking out the MAAS book and Julie's book is on my TBR too. Need to get reading. LOL
Sadly I don't have an e-reader :( But I did read an awesome sample of Natalie Whipple's new book, Transparent, on Amazon.
ReplyDeleteI have a Kindle Fire but I prefer how to books in hard copy. Easier to thumb through and mark it with post its!
