I’m posting this early because it promises to be a very busy
day with little chance to post to the blog once it’s underway.
Here’s what up for today…
Exercise. Last week I was sick and didn’t exercise. When I
stepped back into it this weekend, I was feeling the burn. Time to get back on
track this week.
Read. Usually I don’t read much when I’m deeply involved in writing,
and I don’t write much when I’m reading a lot. I don’t want the book I’m
reading to influence my voice, my style, or my word choice. This time I’m
attempting both. My TBR list is way out of hand.
Rube Goldberg. My older son (who is GT) is presenting his
Rube Goldberg project today. He and a fellow classmate designed and built a
machine that launches a balloon through a hoop. FYI: A Rube Goldberg invention
is a comically involved and complicated machine designed to perform a simple
function.
The Trilogy. Well, you’d think I’d be ready to pen the first
pages by now. But I still have a little world creation to do, and I need to
refine my character voices before beginning. Me: so not a pantser.
Out-of-town baseball game. The last time we had a game in
this town, they were totally harsh with their rules. My older son’s bat was
banned from the game due to the diameter, they argued with me about a run on a
forced out (I’m the team scorekeeper), and they weren’t particularly… nice.
All that other Mom stuff. Chauffeuring, getting the boys
ready for school and bed, dinner (which likely won’t be much due to the out-of-town
game), dishes…you get the picture.

All of that is today? I'm beat already.
ReplyDeleteHope your son's presentation goes well.
May you have a non-manic Monday despite this huge list.
ReplyDeleteOh my...sounds like a busy, crazy day! I'm impressed you have time to write...let alone read- I'm inspired by you :)Hope it was an amazingly fun day...even if busy :)
