Six Things I Did Today Instead of Writing

  1. Undid What Had Been Done. Surgery was a no-go for my younger son. We were supposed to be in Denver today, but he developed a cold over the weekend, and his pediatrician did not believe the anesthesiologist would have put him under with his asthma diagnosis. So I unpacked, canceled reservations, ordered medications, reversed vacation time. You get the picture.
  2. Nurtured the Sick One. Nebulizer treatments, saline solution, and elderberry syrup are all part of the sick-child routine.
  3. Hung out with My Mom. She flew into town to help me through the surgery. Her trip has turned into a week-long vacation now. We may go shopping tomorrow J
  4. Laundry. Because I bought some new clothes for my older son who anxiously wants to wear one of his new t-shirts to school tomorrow, it was necessary to do a load.
  5. Cherished my Borders/Waldenbooks Book Finds. Yes, I went back again. After all, it is now 70-90% off. More on this in a later post.
  6. Attempted to Read. Hard to do when I also have #s 1-5 on the list. But I am thoroughly enjoying Love Story by Jennifer Echols!

  3. Ooh I went through 2 surgeries with my youngest daughter (who had kidney issues)and it was hard enough (didn't have to deal with cancellations). I hope your son feels better. Enjoy the time with your mom.

I have Love Story on my kindle - haven't read it yet, but it looks good.

  4. Sorry life is in such upheaval for you. As much as the surgery worried you, I'm sure it's sometimes a case of getting it behind you. So delays are never fun. Hope all will go well for you and your son.
