Hahaha, yep, that seemed to cover just about every misconception. Now I'd like to see one that covers post-publication - "I'm going to start a blog and I will get thousands of followers and sell a million copies."
How excited was I to get you comment at my blog?? TOTALLY! :) I'm so happy you enjoyed the story and found the characters "great"! Thank you so much for reading it and for letting me know you liked it - you've made my day!
This is hysterical, and something about the electronic, expressionless voices of the characters makes it even more funny!
One of the "favorite" questions I get asked (which wasn't in this video) is:"So, how did you get your book published?" They don't want to hear the WHOLE story of the process, of course. They want to hear there was one easy step, a secret step, a surefire step, that they can easily accomplish -- you know, in time to get their book out before the Christmas season.
Love it! We need more opportunities to laugh like this! On the other hand, you just never know which writer is going to emerge from the ranks of the previously "unknown" and sign with Random House, go on a world tour, and rake in millions of dollars! Looking forward to the next installment!
LOL! Thanks for the smile ;-)

This one always makes me laugh. At the last writer's conference I attended, I met several people who were unemployed and decided — I'll write a book.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! And I bet there are a lot of writers who've watched that video and thought, well this doesn't apply to me, of course!
