All right. So I have let the menial chores get the best of me (see yesterday’s post). And with the pressing goings on with the kiddos that have to take precedence (doctor/dental appointments, surgery prep, extracurricular activities, homework), I have written and revised very little over the past week.
However, I did make progress. So I am celebrating.
Here is the lowdown:
I wrote 2380 more words in my WIP, Superstition Gold. My personal deadline is this Saturday, and I still plan to make it J
I revised only 303 words in my other YA contemporary, Outcast. I have been using Writing the Breakout Novel Workbook by Donald Maass (highly recommended, by the way) for this revision and for The Alchemy Wheel.
My travel memoir is still in the hands of the publisher. A month ago, the publisher contacted me to let me know she and her editor planned to start reading it. I am being patient and trying not to think about it. Though I do check my email every day. Okay, more than once a day.
Finally, I have an idea floating around in my head for NaNoWriMo. Once I complete the first draft of Superstition Gold, I will map it out.
Otherwise, my other manuscripts (listed on the sidebar over there ← )are on hold for now. No plans to query anything until I make all of my revisions using Donald Maass’s book. I have been burned way too much by querying too soon. I want all of my work in tip-top shape this time before sending my writing out to pasture (we have a lot of sheep in our area).
Be sure to visit the other Writers Support 4U! writers for their progress reports. Hope they’re making more mileage than I am J

It's wonderful to hear the progress you've made! And with you working on more than one project, too. :) Don's book is awesome, btw.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget about your other accomplishments during the week. You seem to have quite the busy life. Thanks for participating in the WS4U! group.
I've been burned by querying too soon too! And any progress is still progress. Keep it up! :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Sounds like you've done a great job this week.
ReplyDeleteI've done the querying-too-soon thing as well. But I'm glad I did, it's kind of out of my system now and I'm not so curious about it anymore. It's a good thing. Well done on those words and good luck waiting to hear back.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a plan, and you are smart to put everything in tip top shape before you query.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot on the go. Well done on making so much progress inbetween checking the inbox :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Sounds like you have a lot going on right now! Seems like you've got things well organized, so good for you.
