The super-amazing Sheri Larsen started a Writer Support 4U! group. On the second Tuesday of each month, those of us participating (see list below) post our writing progress.
Those of you who read my blog know I have not really written a whole lot since June. Life kind of happened and had other things in store for me. That is not to say that I let my writing go completely. But I think updating my progress will motivate me to write despite the craziness that tends to crop up from time to time. That being said…
here are my stats:
· Our Life on the Road: Currently with a publisher *fingers are double crossed *that she will green light it for publication. It is my travel memoir—very near and dear to my heart. But I have not toyed with it since I sent it to her in May of this year.
· Superstition Gold: Okay, this is the YA contemporary wip I’ve been working on for a very looooonnng time. I am 55K into it, but cannot seem to find time the time to finish it. Seriously, I am not procrastinating. Life really is that busy.
· Outcast: My other YA contemporary ms. It is currently with my oh-so fabulous crit partner, Shawn at My Journey. Over the summer, I won first place in Ebyss’s revision contest. Natalie Fischer at from the Bradford Literary Agency critiqued the first 250 words. So, it needs some work. After I get my much-needed feedback from Shawna, I plan to revise away.
· Fractured: My Adult contemporary is complete and shelved for now. I’ve queried in the past with no luck. Thus, it sits on the shelf ‘til I figure out its place in the world.
· The Alchemy Wheel: Another Adult contemporary. I have actually worked on this in the past weeks. Yay me! I’ve revised the first 7310 words (or 27 of 320 pages). This was my NaNoWriMo 2009 work about a 19-year-old girl who accidently kills a man while driving one night. Her life intertwines with the dead man’s throughout the novel. I am actually excited about fixing it and making it as compelling as it should be.
· Rachael Harrie’s Third Platform-Building Campaigner: That’s me! I signed myself up for five groups b/c I simply do not write exclusively in one genre. Probably should, but can’t.
· Finally, I am developing two more ideas: One for NaNoWriMo 2011 (a YA contemporary with paranormal overtones) and my first MG fantasy, which I really plan to write for my two sons.
I know, way too much going on at once. But—when life is not ultra crazy—I truly thrive on being exceptionally busy.
Here are the other participants in Tuesday’s Progress Report:

You are so like me, doing so many things! But all good. I have a MG Fantasy I wrote for my kids too! They loved it, but it's on the back-burner while I work on other things.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update! It's so cool to see everything that's going on! :)
If I could afford a second day of blogging each week I'd so be doing this. Love the update.
ReplyDeleteI too am signed up for 5 or so groups in the campaign. Who can stick to one genre? Whoever you are, I envy you.
Wow, you are doing a lot of things! WTG! I'll cross my fingers for Our Life on the Road. :)
ReplyDeleteI've got my fingers cross for your manuscript under review. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you are busy! So many projects going at once! You must be super-organised to be able to handle them all! Good luck with your submission!
ReplyDeleteI tend to have my hands in lots of pots at the same time too. The Alchemy Wheel sounds awesome!
