My brother and I must have watched this movie hundreds of times. It was definitely one of our favorites from the 80s. My brother even had a switchblade comb.
I know the clip is on the long side, but it truly captures this thread of the movie.

ReplyDeleteLOVED Better Off Dead and the $2 running gag (which I still use to this day to describe anyone tenacious about something stupid to me, important to them). I also loved, loved, loved The Sure Thing (maybe that can be an "S" post?)and have memorized lines from that one. Lovin' this 80's theme you have going.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite all-time film. Totally serious. (Like, totally.)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my all time favorite movies from my teen years! The scene where his mom is trying to accommodate the French foreign exchange student sticks in my mind as she brings out the French Fries, French bread, etc. LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on my blog. I could easily be a vegetarian if my elderly mother and my daughter would cooperate, but they are sworn carnivores who have consume great quantities of meat in order to survive! I have a recipe book titled Vegetarian Cooking For Everyone by Deborah Madison. I'm making a recipe out of that book today: Mushroom Ragout. Yum! I'll have to scrounge up some meat for my carnivores to go with that I suppose.
Yeah this was a great 80's film, watched it quite a bit as a kid, haven't in a while though, may have too.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of it *shudder*. I will be happily ignorant. LOL
