Sakes alive! They look like kids here. Although, I was a kid myself back in 1980 when this first came out. Race ahead to the early 1990s when I was in college. This song played at an event at our school (just the song, not U2 themselves) and hearing it takes me immediately back to that night. I love how music does that.
Other Us from the 80s:
Um....help me out. I'm drawing a blank.

Probably my favorite band ever. I loved U2 in the 80s and still do now. I actually wrote about them for my "U" post during last year's Challenge. They are one of the biggest constants in music for me.
ReplyDeletebrains too drained right now--but you picked a great u one
ReplyDeleteTheresa Milstein also featured U2 today. They were indeed popular back in the day.
ReplyDeleteUltravox? Vienna is the only single I can remember though.
ReplyDeleteUncle Buck! Great movie. 89 so it counts (had to check).
ReplyDeleteIs it sad that I went to do a load of washing and spent the whole time coming up with that? :P
I had enough trouble coming up with a 'u' word for the challenge in the first place let alone thinking of one commonly used in the 80s. Great job!
ReplyDeleteUB40 - Red, Red Wine. I have vague memories of my Dad playing this one in the garage while he was working out there
ReplyDeleteI love U2. This was almost my U post.
ReplyDeleteUfo's they were seen in the 80's too..haha
ReplyDeleteUB40 had a lot of success in the Eighties.
ReplyDeleteI still get so much from the tunes of U2, 80's or not! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved this song!!! And Gloria. Ah...those were the days.
ReplyDeleteLoved this one and Gloria from the early days! YOu heard that Edge riff and you knew it was U2. I feel so old now.
