Wham!

As a pre-launch and pre-birthday celebration, My Life as a Misfit currently is free on Smashwords until May 1st. Just use coupon code YD77J at checkout. And don't miss the virtual book tour for Fractured starting May 1st.

Onward...to the A to Z Challenge post.

I definitely owned this record album.

Wham! was super popular back in the 80s. At least for the pop crowd. In fact, there were people at my high school who wore those t-shirts that you see in the video. Not me. I sported the Duran Duran-type shirt instead.

Other Ws from the 1980s:

Weird Science
Who's the Boss
Weird Al (lots of weird back int he 80s, apparently)

What am I missing? A lot, I'm sure.

  1. My favoritest band, The Who, were still making records in the early Eighties, and did some of the early music videos on MTV. I've never thought their Eighties albums are as always as some older guy fans insist. Sure Kenney Jones was no Keith Moon, but his different drumming style just fits with the musical direction they took in that era.

  3. I loved Wham (still a huge George Michael fan)! I remember my friend's older sister getting to go to their concert and her telling us Wham took their clothes off. Crazy thing to remember! Who knows if she was lying or not, but what a funny thing to think back on, especially cause at the time every girl was in love with them :)

  4. All of those W's I know and like too. You avoided the dreaded Whammy!

  6. Still loving the 80s trip down memory lane. I'm sharing a piece from my 80s teenage years for my Y post and found some old pix. I had some funky boots back then.

  7. Hmmm...seems to be an 80's thing goin' on here. Wasn't Kim Wilde around then, or had she faded out already?

  9. I wrote about Wham! as well!! I didn't have any Wham! albums, but I sure did have George Michael's first two solo albums. I love the 80s and your theme throughout this challenge!
